NICHOLAS FILOMENO- Keyboard
Nick began Violin and Piano lessons at the age of 5. He studied Classical Piano under Vladislav Kovalsky and Felix Molzer and Violin under Irina Kovalsky until age 10. At age 11 he began studying piano under Dusty Micale who introduced him to jazz leading. Nicholas has a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. At Mason Gross he studied personally with Jazz Legends including Stanley Cowell, Eddie Parlmieri, Bill O'Connell, and Fred Hersch.
At Rock’n Music Nick teaches beginner-advanced level keyboard and also instructs the Jazz portion of our Jazz & Blues master class. Nicholas performs regularly at various venues such as the Claridge Hotel and Maras Continental Cuisine in South Amboy. Nicholas has received multiple honors in music, including 2 Golden Key Festival Awards for 2nd and 3rd place in classical piano.al piano.
